This is a documented one-owner, all original body panel Mustang that spent its entire life in North Carolina. This Mustang has never been exposed to the corrosive effects of winter road salt and is therefore completely rust free. One owner all original body panel Classic Mustangs are rare finds today. This Mustang’s strength is its body quality and body panel alignment. K.A.R. even had the underside pressure washed to remove 43 years of normal road dirt to ensure there was no hidden rust and there was none. We also had the engine compartment pressure washed to ensure there were no hidden structural issues and none were found.
Although this Mustang presents well, the exterior paint is what we term “driver quality”. The car was repainted once years ago and it was not a bare metal repaint. Close inspection will reveal former prep work marks and some minor nicks from normal road use. The car presents well but the paint is not show quality. Exterior chrome and moldings are in excellent condition. The optional styled steel wheels are in new appearing condition.
The engine compartment, having been pressure washed, is clean. The A-code engine is a desirable factory upgrade. Some minor detailing has been performed. K.A.R. intends to repaint the engine compartment to further enhance its appearance. The engine starts easily, responds instantly to throttle pressure, and does not smoke. This Mustang drives out very well.
The interior is very nice. When the interior was replaced the owner chose white seat upholstery and a white metal dash as accents to the blue trim. We feel these are tasteful upgrades. We found no significant issues with this Mustang’s interior.
The trunk area still carries its original factory paint. It is very clean. A serviceable spare tire, jack, and lug wrench are in place. There are no structural issues in the trunk area.
Overall, this is an unusually well preserved southern Classic Mustang.
