Q: Will K.A.R. trade up or down?

A: K.A.R. Auto group considers classic Mustang trades. Trade up and pay cash difference or trade for a less expensive model and K.A.R. Pays the difference! Trades must be rust-free!

Q: Does K.A.R. offer financing?

A: K.A.R. Auto group offers very competitive interest rates. 48 To 60 months financing is available on our Mustangs. To qualify, buyer must be a resident of Ohio or an adjoining state. Financing contacts are available for other states; please click here for additional financing details.

Q: Does K.A.R. install factory correct options on Mustangs?

A: K.A.R. Auto group installs factory correct options on Mustangs. We can add air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, pony or deluxe interiors, consoles, power tops, wheel packages, disc brake conversions, etc. We can add any option that was available from Ford Motor Company for any model year!

Q: Will K.A.R. give me a courtesy hold?

A: If you are traveling to K.A.R. Auto Group to see and inspect a particular classic Mustang, you may request a 24-hour courtesy hold to insure the Mustang is available upon your arrival. Courtesy holds are restricted to 24 hours maximum, and no deposit is required.

Q: Will K.A.R. accept a deposit on a Mustang?

A: K.A.R. does not accept deposits regardless of size to hold classic Mustangs. Other than Mustangs under a 24-hour courtesy hold, all K.A.R. Mustangs are for sale until payment in full is received. If a signed purchase agreement is executed and payment is being submitted via overnight mail or wire transfer, the Mustang will be considered to be on a 24-hour courtesy hold for that buyer.

Q: Will K.A.R. pay me a finder's fee for great Mustangs I find for sale?

A: 1964 1/2 - 1973. Must be rust free! Spotters are rewarded (if K.A.R. Purchases a Mustang you locate) and must provide full roll of photographs or video tape (preferred). K.A.R. Provides instructions for photos or taping, and evaluation form (click here).

Q: Is the pre-delivery checklist optional?

A: Over our 2+ decades of serving the classic Mustang hobbyists we have learned that operational items most likely to interfere with trouble free operation of a classic Mustang. We have compiled these operational items into a pre-delivery checklist, which now totals over 100 points to be checked depending on year, model, and body style, during this checklist procedure our expert technicians correct any and all deficiencies found. We will not knowingly allow a Mustang to leave our premises without all known deficiencies corrected. Our experience and service records indicate that completing this checklist and correcting all deficiencies found results in an average per car parts and labor cost of $1,500. Some Mustangs have required a parts and labor investment of up to $2,500 for the completion of the checklist. K.A.R.'s 100+ point checklist can be viewed by clicking here. Additional information about the pre-delivery checklist can be found by clicking here. Completion of this checklist and its attendant cost is optional for the buyer for Mustangs offered for sale in pricing categories #2 and #3.

Q: What is K.A.R.'s pricing structure?

A: K.A.R. Auto group owners talk to customers and potential customers on a daily basis. K.A.R. Does not employ commissioned sales people. When you purchase a Mustang from K.A.R., you are buying from an owner. One of our expert technicians may accompany you on a test drive to properly answer your questions but only an owner of K.A.R. Can sell you a Mustang.

Note: air conditioning -- air conditioning repairs are not included in the 100+ point checklist. Every Mustang's air conditioning needs are different. There is no accurate way to estimate air conditioning repairs. Typically, if the air conditioning does not blow cold, repairs fall in a range of $250 to $1000. We do recommend the modern refrigerant r134a should the system require recharging.

Listening carefully to our customers and potential customers we have re-visited our pricing structure and revised our pricing categories. Our current pricing categories are as follows:
Category 1: Fully restored or very low mileage unrestored originals-- the listed price is the final price. These Mustangs have been thoroughly examined and all noted deficiencies corrected. Category 1 Mustangs will have received K.A.R.'s 100+ point pre-delivery inspection or it is included in the purchse price. The buyer may add optional items at his or her expense. Examples of optional items might be an upgraded sound system, spoilers, louvers, wheels, etc.

Category 2: As is, where is condition-- this classic Mustang may be purchased exactly as we receive it. It will be rust free and structurally solid. Typically a very thorough description of the Mustangs overall condition will accompany its listing. It will run and drive, but K.A.R. Will not have performed a pre-delivery inspection and, therefore cannot make any claims as to its mechanical condition. Mustangs in this category will usually present themselves very well. Although minor blemishes might exist, overall paint condition will be very nice. The majority of the exterior chrome and moldings will be new or well preserved original condition. We recommend that as is, where is Mustangs be trailered to the buyer's location and an experienced Mustang technician perform the equivalent of K.A.R.'s 100+ point checklist for the new owner before the Mustang is considered safe and road worthy. They are typically very nice classic Mustangs that simply have not been checked out mechanically. K.A.R. will have thoroughly inspected the cosmetics of the car and provided a list of cosmetic enhancements a new owner can pick and choose from. All listed cosmetic improvements would be at the buyer's expense and additive to the as is, where is purchase price.

Category 3: As is , where is price plus $1,500 for the completion of K.A.R.'s exclusive 100+ point pre-delivery inspection-- buyer may also select items from the published list of deficiencies. These items would be additive to the category 3 price.

Category 4: Project Car-- we at K.A.R. Are constantly alert for good project cars. We acquire project cars from areas of the country that do not use winter road salt. Salt used to melt snow and ice on highways is the single biggest contributor to classic Mustang rust. K.A.R. project cars will always be structurally solid and in most cases move under their own power. They typically will require paint, exterior chrome, interior restoration and mechanical work. We consider our project cars to be easy restoration projects because no structural restoration is required and, almost always, no body panel replacement is required. In most cases we do not consider these cars to be road worthy. Therefore, we strongly recommend that they be trailered away from K.A.R. and not driven away.
